About Southeastern Laundry Equipment Sales

Since 1976, Southeastern Laundry Equipment Sales has been the Southeast's premier distributor of industrial and coin-operated laundry systems. From equipment sales and leasing to parts and service, we help businesses across hospitality, healthcare, multi-housing, and more operate with efficiency and reliability.

We're driven by our seven core values — Respect, Integrity, Ownership, Team First, Positivity, Innovation, and Excellence — and we're looking for teammates who embody those values every day.

Position Overview

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Field Technician / Equipment Rebuilder to join our Knoxville team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, repairing, restoring, and rebuilding machinery, and being part of a supportive, team-driven environment.

You'll be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and preparing laundry equipment for installation, resale, or lease — ensuring every machine that leaves our shop meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and rebuild industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers, etc.).
  • Perform mechanical rebuilds such as transmission replacement, bearings, repainting, and general restoration.
  • Complete pre-installation tasks — gas conversions, coin box setups, and other custom configurations.
  • Inspect, clean, and refurbish equipment to prepare for resale or lease.
  • Support field technicians with parts delivery or on-site repairs when needed.
  • Assist with light facility maintenance and general shop upkeep.
  • Serve as a backup collector in the absence of the primary collector.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented mindset and take ownership of your daily work.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required (typically less than once per month).

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience in laundry equipment, appliance repair, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting and moving up to 75 lbs.
  • Training: Full manufacturer-led and on-the-job training provided, including ongoing technical education.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR required).
  • Availability: Standard hours Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with occasional after-hours or weekend work as needed.
  • Teamwork: Positive attitude, dependability, and strong collaboration skills are essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Company-provided service vehicle, cell phone, and tablet
  • 401(k) plan with generous company match
  • Comprehensive health coverage — medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability options
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and company holidays
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Safety gear and tools provided

Work Environment

  • Primarily shop-based with occasional on-the-road support
  • Standard day shift schedule (M–F) with limited travel (under 5%)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45, $50,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Laundry: 2 years (Required)

Work Location: Remote

  • Knoxville, Tennessee, United States
