Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Concord, MA

Assignment Details:

• 13 Weeks
• 8-Hour Day Shifts 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Some weekday shifts 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every 2nd to every 3rd weekend 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience (compounding experience preferred but not required)
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (required)
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (required)
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical dosage calculations
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Maintain proficiency in all areas of the Department of Pharmacy Services within pharmacy technician scope
• Prepare medications in unit-dose packaging and label using repackaging software
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care floors during routine rounds
• Assess medication storage areas for expired medications, cleanliness, and proper stocking
• Fill automated dispensing machines using barcode technology
• Support pharmacists in meeting the needs of institutional patients
• Assist in all pharmacy department areas as assigned
• Perform pharmaceutical dosage calculations for sterile and non-sterile preparations
• Compound non-sterile medications under pharmacist supervision in accordance with USP
• Compound sterile preparations under pharmacist supervision in accordance with USP
• Compound hazardous medications under pharmacist supervision in accordance with USP
• Replenish stock in compounding areas (medications, IV fluids, syringes, needles)
• Identify and dispose of outdated or patient-specific compounded medications
• Answer and triage pharmacy phone calls appropriately
• Provide excellent customer service to nurses, physicians, and patients
• Assist with orientation and training of new pharmacy technician staff
• Restock emergency code carts and anesthesia medication trays and maintain records
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
• Perform additional duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership

Pay: $ $27.80 per hour

Experience:

• Pharmacy technician: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (Required)
• registration as a CPhT in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (Required)
