DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service; responsible for total store CSI and customer resolutions.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom, and one-on-one interactions.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer grievances and close the loop between customer and employee relations.
  • Oversee total store operations: implement merchandising, operating, and sales initiatives; drive sales, achieve gross profit, and manage expenses.
  • Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability.
  • Communicate with Operations Specialists for support on sales, promotions, and division programs.
  • Communicate company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to department managers and employees; ensure compliance and set expectations.
  • Meet weekly with department heads to review ads, sales plans, and promotions; ensure alternate manager conducts meetings in absence.
  • Create and maintain positive community relations; develop communication channels with vendors, manufacturers, and corporate personnel; monitor market trends and competitors.
  • Maintain rapport with vendors and warehouse.
  • Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices; requires basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email.

Food Safety, Sanitation & Compliance

  • Implement and communicate company safety and health initiatives; emphasize compliance in all work practices.
  • Maintain integrity in food safety and sanitation; ensure compliance across all departments.
  • Solely responsible for food safety and sanitation within the store.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HIPAA, COBC, Meat Grinding Log, Texas Workplace Benefits Plan, Food Handlers Manager, and other company/state requirements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Enforce proper code dating for all products.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling initiatives, wage/payroll guidelines, Time Clock Policy, benefit plans, grooming standards, child labor laws, and other employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate records consistent with law and retention policies.
  • Review and approve department schedules to ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Maintain good store conditions, product quality, rotation, labeling standards, and code date compliance; conduct daily inspections and coach employees.
  • Operate related equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, knives, safety cutters, Sterilox machine).
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment/software malfunctions.
  • Ensure proper temperature levels for products; comply with labeling laws and regulations.
  • Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product; adhere to temperature and packaging guidelines.

Human Resources

  • Accountable for staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training; evaluate performance and make personnel decisions (promotion, termination, discipline).
  • Conduct formal evaluations per Division guidelines; identify training needs and ensure completion.
  • Resolve employee relations issues (discrimination, harassment, off-the-clock work) with HR guidance; maintain positive morale.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of employees, store sales, and company information.
  • Provide clear guidance and instruction to managers, supervisors, and associates.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling, sales accounting, safe procedures, and asset protection.

Financials

  • Control shrink; maintain inventory levels per Division guidelines.
  • Develop operating budgets; control operating, maintenance, expense, and supply costs.
  • Process and complete required reports and paperwork; understand P&L and other store reports.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks; ensure accurate inventory of merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee reclamation processing; maintain orderly backroom and department conditions.
  • Recommend equipment/building improvements or repairs to District Manager.
  • Ensure merchandise is priced and displayed correctly; maintain clean shelves.
  • Perform all duties safely, accurately, and with integrity; treat employees fairly and respectfully.
  • Perform other necessary and required duties.

Pay Transparency:

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.

  • For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
