Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Security Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for correctly installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a range of security systems and some smart home devices, including cameras, alarm systems, sensors, and access control devices. This role requires some simple technical understanding in low voltage systems, electrical work, and network integration. The Security Technician will ensure the safety and security of client premises through thoughtful system planning and service delivery, supporting both residential and some commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and service security systems such as CCTV, alarms, sensors, fire alarms, and access controls.
- Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Instal cabling, wiring, and low-voltage electrical work using hand tools and power tools in construction or retrofit environments.
- Provide remote access support for system diagnostics and updates using specialized software.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate solutions including alarm system sales when applicable.
- Adhere to NEC standards and local electrical codes during installation and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work complies with standards and safety protocols related to low-voltage electrical work.
Requirements
- Must have your own reliable transportation. We work out of our personal vehicles.
- Experience as a Service Technician or in a similar security system installation role is a plus, but not a requirement. We teach you everything you need to know.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and power saws; as well as locksmithing tools if necessary.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware/software issues across various security platforms.
- Service technician experience preferred; familiarity with alarm system sales is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments, including commercial buildings or construction sites.
- Valid driver's license required; MUST be able to pass a background check. Willingness to travel is essential. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30, $120,000.00 per year
