Job Summary: The House Manager for People with Disabilities at Atlas Advocacy Services plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and quality of life for individuals with disabilities residing in group homes or residential settings. The House Manager oversees the daily operations of the house, supervises staff, and ensures the provision of safe, supportive, and person-centered care. This position requires strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to promoting independence and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • House Operations and Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned residential house, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
  • Coordinate and monitor housekeeping, maintenance, and repair activities to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that necessary resources are available for the residents' daily needs.
  • Staff Supervision and Development:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise direct support staff.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, performance feedback, and coaching to staff members.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff assignments to ensure adequate coverage and support for residents.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to promote communication, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Individualized Care and Support:
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on residents' needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Ensure that residents receive appropriate support with activities of daily living, including personal care, medication management, and meal preparation.
  • Foster a person-centered approach, encouraging residents' independence, self-advocacy, and community integration.
  • Collaborate with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary teams to review and update care plans as needed.
  • Provide transportation to clients for medical appointments, job-related activities, and community outings.
  • Develop and implement support strategies for all clients based on their individual needs and goals.
  • Attend all Person-Centered Support Planning (PCSP) and behavioral support meetings for clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Provide transportation supports to our client based on client's needs.

  • Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including residents' care plans, progress notes, incident reports, and staff documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure documentation accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
  • Write monthly summaries for each client, documenting their progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Review clients' purchases and receipts to ensure financial responsibility.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with residents, their families, guardians, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with case managers, healthcare professionals, and other service providers to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant human services field) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within a residential or group home setting for individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, including staff supervision, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Knowledge of person-centered care principles and best practices in supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the field of disability services.
  • Proficiency in documentation, recordkeeping, and use of relevant software or databases.
  • Must pass all driving requirements and have a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to assist with lifting and transferring residents as needed.
  • Stamina and physical dexterity to perform tasks such as standing, walking, and participating in household activities.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
