Senior Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant that desires an opportunity within the public accounting profession. The ideal candidate will have experience in business and/or individual tax, with some experience in accounting related services as well. This position is responsible for preparation of tax returns for business and individuals, assisting with tax planning, and performing compilation and review engagements to include ensuring the accuracy of tax and financial reporting while adhering to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Tax preparation ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Tax planning for businesses and individuals to minimize tax consequences and liabilities
• Performing compilation and review engagements including preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting and tax services processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or planning to sit for the CPA exam; Enrolled Agent may be an alternative.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in public or corporate accounting with recent employment in public accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work with other staff effectively and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various businesses and individual clients.
• Exposure to various accounting and tax software and Microsoft Office apps. Experience with CCH Axcess Tax; ProSystem Engagement and Practice Mgmt; QuickBooks and Sage software preferred but not required.
