Edible Packaging Lead

Summary:

Edible Packaging Lead executes company objectives by managing the edible packaging operations including:

packaging and labeling of chews, gummies, drink mixes, tablets, and baked goods, product vault management, batch data tracking and reporting, maintaining department equipment, real time performance metric reporting, supply inventory management, following the packaging schedule, and regulatory compliance that adheres to the regulations established by the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.

Essential Functions:

• The Edible Packaging Lead will manage edible packaging staff in accomplishing set production results, establishing priorities, monitoring the packaging progress and quality controls, resolving problems, and reporting the data to company production summaries daily.

• Manages Beginning and End of day department cleaning procedures for the edible packaging department. Furthermore, the Edible Packaging Lead is responsible for daily breakdown and sanitizing of packaging supplies & filling equipment.

• Edible Packaging Lead is to closely track and maintain inventory of supplies necessary to complete all packaging duties through the production process; including but not limited to: gloves, product packaging and labels, case pack boxes, METRC tags, trash bags, personal protective and other packaging related equipment.

• Completes packaging duties by assigning employees and providing oversight on work results and performance metrics. Furthermore, the Edible Packaging Lead will update publicly displayed packaging metrics in real time and hold staff accountable to the objectives.

• Secures and accounts for all products from Packaging to Fulfillment stages of the process by implementing the production schedule, standard operating procedures, MMCC regulations, and safety measures. Furthermore, the Edible Packaging Lead is responsible for packaging department quality assurance and ensures all staff have been trained on all standard operating procedures.

• The Edible Packaging Lead will ensure staff is always busy laboring in the facility and/or working on selected production tasks as directed by the Leadership team.

• Follows and completes the edible packaging plan by coordinating between the necessary departments and leadership team.

• Maintains packaging staff by training employees and holding the team accountable to KIND Therapeutics USA's policies, procedures, and roles.

• Upholds packaging results by coaching and counseling the staff. The Edible Packaging Lead will closely monitor and appraise all packaging staff collectively and individually on job results.

• Compiles and reviews all packaging data and provides real time updates of edible SKUs to internal tracking systems.

• Notifies the leadership team of additional planning needs in advance of employee vacations, illnesses, and all other areas relating to packaging staff.

• Reports to the leadership team if potential bottlenecks in packaging production and/or forecasting arise.

• Maintains professional and technical cannabis knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional societies.

• Always follows good manufacturing procedures and has strong knowledge of GMP requirements.

Experience Requirements:

1. Individuals applying must be a minimum twenty-one (21) years old

2. Must have a valid driver's license or ID

3. 2+ years of full-time experience in the cannabis or related industry working as a leader throughout packaging processes; experience leading a small team of up to 10 employees.

4. A State and Federal background check and pre-employment drug test.

5. Experience in METRC, G Suite, Microsoft 365, and basic-intermediate computer systems.

6. Certain situations require that work is completed on weekends, afterhours, and holidays.

7. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, as well as relying on the full extension of the legs and arms to reach items and execute all edible packaging responsibilities.

Education and Professional Requirements:

1. Highschool or Equivalent

2. Must be 21 or older

3. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check annually

Physical Requirements and Working conditions:

1. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and push/pull up to 70 lbs.

2. Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.
