Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology team. In this role, you will be a vital link between our patients and providers, ensuring that every individual feels supported and cared for during their most personal health journeys.

From prenatal visits to routine wellness exams, you will provide clinical and administrative excellence in a growing, fast-paced, high-empathy environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support:

• Patient Intake: Room patients, obtain vital signs (BP, weight, pulse), and update medical histories in the EMR.
• Procedure Assistance: Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with colposcopies, biopsies, IUD insertions/removals, OB ultrasounds, and medication and vaccination administration.
• Specimen Collection: Perform venipuncture (blood draws), collect urine samples, and prepare lab specimens for transport.
• Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding prenatal care, surgical prep, and post-procedure recovery.

Administrative Duties:

• Manage patient flow to ensure minimal wait times.
• Process prescription refills and prior authorizations.
• Communicate lab results to patients under the direction of the physician.
• Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and stock exam rooms.

Patient Coordination:

• Check-In/Check-Out: Greet patients warmly, verify identity, and update demographics and insurance information in the EMR.
• Scheduling: Manage complex provider schedules, including routine wellness exams, prenatal "OB chains," and urgent "work-in" appointments.
• Phone Triage: Route high volumes of calls to the appropriate clinical staff while maintaining a calm and helpful demeanor.
