Barista

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our dynamic café team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality coffee and food items. This role requires a passion for the food and beverage industry, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a vital member of our team, you will help create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests and ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using standard recipes and techniques.
• Operate POS systems order processing, cash handling, and sales transactions.
• Manage customer orders efficiently, ensuring timely service while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
• Handle food safety procedures, including proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation practices.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas in accordance with health regulations.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed.
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Manage cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for transactions and retail math for sales reporting.
• Support team members during busy periods by multitasking effectively with time management skills.

Experience

• Previous barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and food service standards is advantageous.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on creating positive guest experiences.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently with basic math skills.
• Experience in food safety, food handling, and serving in a café or retail environment is desirable.
