POSITION SUMMARY

Job Summary:

The Safety Trainer is responsible for performing advanced-level training functions and is responsible for a full range of activities in implementing and developing training courses, programs, and procedures that include the preparation of tests, designing participant manuals, collecting appropriate videos and other materials, and conducting and facilitating training, meetings, or other discussions with trainees and/or management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced-level training functions and is responsible for a full range of activities in developing and presenting training courses and programs for various users (including new and current employees) includes preparation of tests, designing participant manuals/handbooks, collecting appropriate videos and other materials, and conducting or facilitating training, meetings, or other discussions with trainees and/or management.
  • Seeks to understand the needs of the customers and provide the highest standards of training service.
  • Demonstrates and promotes fair, honest, professional, and ethical behaviors that establish trust throughout the organization and with the public we serve.
  • Organizational Excellence - Takes ownership of excellence through one's effectiveness and dedication to the continuous improvement, development and update of training methods and material.

  • Research and compile data for inclusion into training programs and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Utilizes hardware, software, audio, and video equipment to compile and present data.
  • Assures new employee's full compliance with company policies, standards, procedures, culture, and goals.
  • Gives introductions to new employees within the company.
  • Helps to improve current employees' performance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, transportation safety, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role within the trucking or transportation industry
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Experience conducting safety audits and investigations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60, $70,000.00 per year
