Job Title: Line Cook / Prep Cook
Location: Cooper's Bar and Grill, (Insert Location)
Reports To: Kitchen Manager / General Manager
Job Type: Full Time (35 hours per week)
Compensation: Pay will be based on experience
Position Summary:
Cooper's Bar and Grill is seeking reliable, efficient, and experienced Cooks to join our kitchen team. As a cook, you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with standardized recipes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, and ensuring every guest receives a delicious and consistent experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
· Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
· Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
· Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
· Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, marinating, etc.
· Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner to support service flow.
· Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management.
· Monitor inventory levels and alert management when supplies are low.
· Handle food storage properly, labeling and rotating stock (FIFO method).
· Clean kitchen equipment and workspaces at the end of each shift.
· Assist in creating specials or contributing to menu updates, as needed.
· Comply with all health department regulations and food handling guidelines.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment (bar and grill experience a plus).
· Familiarity with various cooking methods, equipment, and procedures.
· Ability to follow standardized recipes and plating instructions.
· Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain).
· Strong time management and organizational skills.
· Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Work Environment:
· Fast-paced, high-energy kitchen in a casual dining/bar setting.
· Loud noise levels and exposure to heat and open flames.
· Team-oriented environment requiring effective communication.
