We are seeking a Safety Director to lead Kilcor's safety strategy, programs, and field execution across all operating regions.

About the Role

The Safety Director plans, organizes, and directs all phases of Kilcor's safety and risk management programs. This role is responsible for ensuring work is performed in a safe, compliant, and accident-free environment while fostering a culture where safety is owned at every level of the organization.

This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with operations, project teams, and executive leadership to proactively identify risks, implement solutions, and continuously improve safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and lead Kilcor's company-wide safety program and strategy
  • Reinforce a strong safety culture rooted in accountability, visibility, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular inspections of active construction projects across all operating regions
  • Maintain consistent field presence, visiting team members regularly and increasing visibility on larger projects and in major markets
  • Proactively identify hazardous conditions and implement corrective actions
  • Lead accident investigations, determine root causes, and complete all required OSHA and state reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA visits, audits, and regulatory inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, owner, GC, and OCIP/CCIP safety requirements
  • Partner with project teams during preconstruction to support safe project setup and execution
  • Lead and deliver ongoing safety training for managers, field teams, and subcontractors
  • Promote near-miss reporting and use data to drive training and prevention efforts
  • Evaluate and recommend safety software and systems to track training and program effectiveness
  • Support workers' compensation case management and attend hearings as required
  • Ensure proper PPE usage across all jobsites and operations
  • Travel to jobsites routinely and as needed for incidents or regulatory visits
  • Develop and support employee safety recognition programs
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource to both field and office teams

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of general safety experience, including at least 5 years in construction safety
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and state safety regulations
  • OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 (Outreach Trainer), or ability to obtain as required
  • First Aid/CPR and AED certification
  • Competent Person certifications including Fall Protection, LOTO, Excavation, MEWP, Scaffolding, and Confined Space
  • Experience managing workers' compensation and injury case processes
  • Proven ability to build, implement, and lead safety programs
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHST and/or STC-C certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
  • OSHA 500 for Construction (if not currently authorized) within 6 months
