Salary: $70,000 per year
Victoria Crossing Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and dedicated Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee and coordinate our Food and Nutrition Services Department. This key leadership role ensures that residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that support their health and well-being in accordance with physician orders, dietitian recommendations, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct all aspects of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
- Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the department.
- Prepare and present written and oral reports or recommendations to the Registered Dietitian and/or Administrator.
- Develop and implement an effective organizational structure for the dietary department.
- Review and respond to departmental complaints or grievances; report corrective actions taken.
- Assist the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee with action plans related to dietary services.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards in food handling and preparation.
- Develop diet plans for individual residents and collaborate with nursing and medical teams to meet dietary needs.
- Process new diet orders and changes accurately and promptly.
- Interview residents or family members to obtain diet histories and preferences.
- Assist in planning menus for regular and therapeutic diets in accordance with physician prescriptions.
- Maintain menus and dietary records in compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.
- Oversee food storage, sanitation, labeling, and safety practices.
- Train, schedule, and supervise dietary staff; assist in creating job descriptions and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate food service operations with nursing, environmental, and other departments.
- Develop and implement procedures for efficient use of supplies and safe operation of equipment.
- Participate in departmental policy development, annual review, and staff education.
- Ensure residents are provided with appropriate snacks and meals according to their care plans.
- Delegate responsibilities as appropriate in the absence of the manager.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Prior experience in a long-term care or nursing home setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets, menu planning, and regulatory compliance in healthcare.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
