Mechanical Assembler
This position is to plan and perform highly diversified functions necessary to assemble, disassemble, hydrotest, mount, align and pipe a wide variety of assemblies and rotors of pumps. This is not a place where we make widgets on an assembly line.
We are looking for an individual with a moderate to strong mechanical aptitude to work on complex rotating equipment.
Location: Bethlehem, PA
Rate: $30.81

Your Challenge
Work under supervision and receive instructions from appropriate supervision. Work instructions will be both written and verbal, utilizing drawings, procedures and/or sketches
Make decisions involving initiative and judgement to assemble, disassemble, maintain traceability, hydrotest equipment, mount and align a wide variety of equipment in a wide variety of test arrangements
Setup, operate and maintain various types of equipment singly or in parallel. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: Hand held tools, Measuring equipment, Mounting/Piping machines/tools, Machine tools, Pneumatic tools, Gages, Dial Indicators, Air/Shot blast equipment
Operate all material handling equipment (e.g. Overhead cranes, jib cranes and forklifts)
What You Bring
Must be a US citizen and be able to qualify for a U.S. Government security clearance
Strong mechanical aptitude - automotive, small engine repairs, rotating equipment, and pump knowledge
Basic computer skills
Proficient in reading blueprint, drawings and procedures
An understanding of mechanical and material properties would be beneficial
