OUR PROJECTS
We are a small and nimble team, specializing in building repositioning and adaptive reuse projects ranging from $2-30MM in value. Project Engineer are responsible for supporting multiple concurrent projects. They are expected to maintain an on-site presence to support the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Accountabilities

  • Has a complete understanding of the project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Keeps the project information and documentation well organized and current
  • Creates and submits change orders, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes in a timely fashion
  • Partners with the Superintendent to manage Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Coordinates subcontractor work and verifies installed work; performs quality control and shop drawing review

Job Summary
The Project Engineer (PE) works as an essential team member in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The PE is the force behind a well-organized project, increasing efficiency and providing a competent image of the company to subcontractors and clients. As directed, the PE translates the Construction Documents into buildable plans, working in support of the Superintendent to implement the plans. The PE should have good listening skills, the ability to build strong relationships, remain open-minded, and solicit performance feedback. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

ROLE COMPETENCIES
Project Information Ownership

  • Identify and resolve omissions and inconsistencies within the project documents by working through the RFI process
  • Change order creation, submittal, and tracking
  • Ensure that digital copies of all construction-related drawings, logs, permits, and contracts are properly created and recorded within project folders
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure that invoices are scanned and entered into the appropriate project invoice folders; track progress payments and verify the accuracy of invoices against work completed
  • Track management of daily logs and safety meeting reports from Superintendents
  • Create and maintain a project directory
  • Assist the Superintendent with equipment scheduling, work techniques, and material deliveries

Subcontractor Management

  • Obtain and document subcontractor insurance certifications, business licenses, submittal schedules, sub-prequalification forms, etc.
  • Assist the Project Manager in defining the scope of subcontracted work; assist in replying to all subcontractor inquiries
  • Issue subcontractor agreements as directed by the Project Manager
  • Coordinate subcontractor work, schedule, and work hours
  • Perform quality control, shop drawing review, and related support functions

Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledgeable about the overall process of construction from estimating to close-out
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges
  • Familiarity with construction quality and health and safety standards
  • 1-3 year's experience

Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in construction-related field
  • Professional designations (PMP, CMIT, OSHA, etc.)
  • Experience working with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite software
