Duties

• Safely operate different types of collection trucks such as vacuum trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to complete scheduled routes.
• Load and unload waste materials accurately using mechanical knowledge of truck mechanisms and lifting techniques.
• Drive confidently through designated neighborhoods and commercial areas, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Perform routine inspections of vehicles before and after routes to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with manual heavy lifting when necessary to load or unload waste containers or materials.
• Maintain accurate logs of pickups, route completion times, and any incidents or vehicle maintenance needs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate route adjustments or address challenges encountered during collection.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with heavy-duty trucks such as front loaders, rear loaders, roll-offs, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or flatbeds.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of truck operations and maintenance procedures.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic regulations.
• Prior delivery or waste collection driver experience is highly desirable.

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
