JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic entry-level Civil Engineer in Training I to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in real-world projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and project managers to assist in the planning, design, and implementation of various civil engineering projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with land development projects by performing civil design calculations and using engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications as required by assignment.
  • Researches and writes reports/opinions, including due diligence investigations and code studies.
  • Utilizes various engineering related computer software including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Conducts studies to identify engineering problems and assesses potential project impacts.
  • Inspects project sites with Project Manager to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordinates project tasks and scheduling with Project Manager.
  • Researches design options and document findings for Project Manager.
  • Assists the Project Manager or Project Engineer with the permitting of engineering projects.
  • Assists in examination of engineering documents for completeness or accuracy.
  • Assists in review of drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects and recommend necessary changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Experience: 0-1 year experience in civil engineering or related field (internships/co-ops included).

Licensure: EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or ability to obtain it within the first year of employment

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD or Civil3D.
  • Ability to manage important resources such as time and materials.
  • Ability to analyze project needs and requirements to create a design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
