Mechanic

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with a strong background in diagnostics, mechanical systems, and equipment maintenance. This role offers an opportunity to work on a diverse range of machinery, including farm equipment, industrial machinery, and transportation vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety across operations. Candidates with dealership experience and proficiency in fabrication are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractors, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and industrial machinery
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, and alignments
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
• Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
• Conduct hydraulic system repairs, transmission overhauls, air brake servicing, HVAC system maintenance, and diesel engine repairs
• Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures
• Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
• Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment components for repair or replacement purposes
• Support customer service efforts by providing professional communication regarding repair status and recommendations

Requirements

• Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and heavy equipment maintenance
• Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; extensive knowledge of vehicle diagnostics is essential
• Proficiency with schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, and suspension components
• Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, forklifts, cranes, excavators, tractor-trailers, and other heavy machinery safely
• Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, automotive systems (including air brakes), tire service, shocks & struts
• Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering is advantageous
• Physical ability to lift heavy components safely and perform manual tasks requiring heavy lifting
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation
• Valid certifications related to diesel engines or vehicle maintenance are a plus but not required
