Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a
mid-career Industrial Engineer
to join our production team in Littleton, Colorado

The Industrial Engineering team is known for delivering breakthrough capabilities and process improvement that continually redefine space flight. As our business grows, we are looking to expand our industrial engineering team with someone who can help us deliver breakthrough capabilities that redefine our production systems. This talented team understands data and loves building tools that use data to surface problems and give people a convenient way to act. Industrial Engineers operate in a fast-paced, agile, next-gen environment, and utilize the latest technology in PLM, MRP, MES, Discrete Event Simulation, Data Analytics, and Data Visualization Software to produce analysis' & metrics which enable imperative business decisions.

This is an experienced Industrial Engineering opportunity where you will:

  • Apply advanced Industrial Engineering concepts and techniques to analyze business processes and reduce waste.
  • Working with facilities engineers to support planning of new production lines and factories.
  • Supporting Manufacturing Engineers in developing standards and analyzing shop performance against targets.
  • Generating production process simulations for future production programs and performing analyses to identify resource constraints, flow, process layouts, and work schedules to achieve delivery targets.
  • Interrogate data systems and look for opportunities to surface problems and drive improvements.
  • Provide data-driven solutions that enable the production team to optimize their manufacturing schedules and costs.
  • Oversee process improvement efforts, ensuring implementation and sustainment while demonstrating results.
  • Mentor, lead, and train less experienced industrial engineers
  • Interact with shop floor production operations team to enable the IE to comprehend the manufacturing processes to provide data-driven deliverables to internal customers.
  • Supporting occasional weekend or off-hour support as needed to maintain production schedule compliance.
  • Collaborate with all functional groups through the entire product lifecycle within a production environment
  • Provide valuable solutions to multiple organizations and align program priorities.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education from an accredited college or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience and knowledge in establishing and launching new production manufacturing lines or factories, including planning, design, implementation, and ramp-up to full production capacity.
  • Leadership experience. Proven ability to maintain a high performing team. Ability to manage and resolve conflict.
  • Experience with SAP, Apriso, VECAMS, Tableau, Simio or other simulation software
  • Ability to develop and execute ramp plans to increase production rates while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), particularly with Production Operations and Program Offices
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize assignments
  • Production Experience and/or New Production Program Experience
  • Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience. Understanding of S-Curves, Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and Cost Performance Index (CPI)
  • Ability to construct PowerPoint presentation material and brief to senior leadership effectively
  • Active Secret security clearance
