Barista

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant environment where you can develop your skills in food handling, sales, and hospitality. Previous experience with POS systems such as Toast is preferred, along with strong time management abilities. As a vital member of our team, you will ensure every customer has a positive experience from order to delivery.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and other menu items with precision and consistency
• Operate POS systems including Toast for order processing
• Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service
• Handle food safety and food preparation standards according to health regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling stations
• Assist customers with product selections, answer questions about menu items, and promote sales
• Restock supplies as needed and monitor inventory levels throughout shifts
• Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times

Skills

• Proven experience as a Barista or in food service environments, with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience in serving, cashiering, or retail math is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude to create an inviting atmosphere
