Medical Assistant Requirements

• Must have an active certification from a medical assistant program or military medical program and be nationally certified
• No experience needed/will be trained in office
• High school Diploma/GED
• Must be able and willing to cross-train

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
• Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical. Procedures and other patient care.
• Ensure strict compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• MA will follow all protocols for testing, labs, and other instruments set by the practitioner or management.
• Clean all medical supplies as needed.
• Weekly and Monthly inventory of all medical supplies and patient rooms
• Maintain a weekly log on all sample medication.
• Answer inbound calls and patient portal chats from guarantors/patients in a professional, helpful, and respectful manner that gives the caller an excellent experience.
• Deescalate upset callers.
• MA will call and Fax progress notes, prescriptions, prior authorizations, referrals, lab results to the appropriate recipient.
• Schedule/reschedule new patient appointments, follow-up appointments, missed/no-show appointments daily.
• Return all messages from patients and clinics daily or as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Perform daily front office duties as needed.
• Ensure that the clinic is clean and maintained.
• Responds timely and accurately to follow up on items that are assigned.
