Weekday Schedule | Outpatient Practice
The Stram Center for Integrative Medicine is a well-established outpatient practice specializing in integrative and functional medicine. We provide collaborative, patient-centered care in a supportive clinical environment.
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our clinical team across patient care, IV services, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), and limited front desk and case management functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and works well in a team-based healthcare setting.
Position Overview
The Medical Assistant supports daily clinic operations by assisting providers and nursing staff, preparing patients and treatment areas, supporting IV and laboratory services, and ensuring accurate documentation and patient flow. Training is provided for HBOT.
Once fully trained, this role will include later weekday hours to support HBOT patients later in the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and document vital signs for medical patients and assist with routine clinical care
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and patients for visits, IV therapy, laboratory services, and HBOT
- Support the IV suite by maintaining supplies, linens, and equipment; assembling IV draw kits; and ensuring accurate preparation for daily IV services
- Assist nursing staff with IV-related workflows and maintain a clean, organized IV treatment environment
- Support Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy sessions by preparing equipment, assisting with chamber operation, monitoring patients during treatment, and completing accurate visit documentation and estimated charges
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding treatment processes, including answering questions and explaining expectations for therapies such as HBOT
- Perform peripheral blood draws and assist with laboratory services, including specimen handling, processing, documentation, and charge entry
- Maintain accurate, timely charting for clinical, laboratory, and HBOT services in accordance with practice protocols
- Navigate the patient portal to support case management workflows, including assigning tasks and ensuring appropriate documentation is completed
- Verify that required consent forms are completed prior to treatment and locate appropriate forms within administrative records when needed
- Provide front desk coverage as needed, including patient check-in, scheduling support, and assisting with patient flow throughout the clinic
- Follow all clinical, safety, and operational protocols to support quality patient care
Schedule
- Monday–Friday outpatient schedule
- Daytime hours during training
- After training, schedule will include later weekday shifts such as 11:00 AM–7:00 PM or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
- No weekend or on-call responsibilities
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Prior outpatient clinical experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working across clinical, lab, and administrative support functions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, adaptable, and patient-focused
- Willingness to work later weekday hours as needed after training
- Experience with IV therapy, laboratory services, or integrative medicine is a plus
