Maintenance Assistant – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Maintenance Assistant at JLL, you will assist the facilities team in the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment while performing general maintenance tasks across multiple trades including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and painting. This hands-on role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills while working under the direction of experienced Operating Engineers and Chief Engineers. You'll be an essential part of maintaining safe, functional environments that support client operations and satisfaction, contributing to JLL's reputation for operational excellence and reliable facility management services.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Assist the facilities team in maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment across multiple locations
- Perform general maintenance tasks including carpentry, HVAC system support, electrical work, plumbing repairs, and painting projects
- Complete assigned work orders in CMMS while maintaining appropriate service documentation for accountability
- Maintain tools, parts, equipment, and supplies in clean and safe conditions according to safety protocols
- Work closely under direction of Operating Engineers, Chief Engineers, and other senior technical staff
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs to expand skill set
- Support on-call and emergency response situations when needed for continuous facility operations
- Assist with various projects and tasks as assigned by management team
Required Qualifications:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
- Physical capability for frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving as required
- Strong customer service skills for professional interaction with clients and team members
- Willingness to learn and work under supervision while developing technical maintenance skills
- Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining clean, organized work environments
- Flexibility to support emergency response and on-call situations as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry
- Trade school education, union training, military service, or college background
- Experience with CMMS systems and work order completion processes
- Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures
- Experience with hand tools and maintenance equipment operation
