Description Of Work
The primary purpose of the Classroom Based Health Care Technician I/Trainer I (CBTI) position is to ensure safety and quality active treatment for the people residing in his/her assigned homes and day placements through direct support and service implementation. Home/day placement assignments may vary day to day as this is a floater position which may serve all 3 areas of campus when needs arise. The CBTI is involved in supporting the individual in every aspect of his/her life. The CBTI is part of the team providing continuous active treatment and training that is based on their needs/wishes/preferences/strengths and potential for learning. This training in skill acquisition may be generic or very specialized in nature, but in each case is directed toward enhancing independence and retaining skills that maximize resident self- determination.

Salary Range: $29,748.00 – $44,621.00
Recruitment Range: $31, $44,621.00
A Sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the Budget Approval.

Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Visual skills are required to ensure resident safety, perform supervisory responsibilities, and to communicate effectively with residents who do not use verbal language to express themselves.
- Basic math skills of adding, dividing, calculating percentages and averaging.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to stay organized and work without direct daily supervision.
