Project Manager – Generator Enclosures

Location: Houston, TX
Department: Operations / Project Execution
Reports To: Operations Manager / GM

Position Overview

Gulfstream Container is seeking a Project Manager for our Houston facility to serve as the primary liaison between customers and our fabrication shop. This role owns the execution of generator enclosure projects from kickoff through delivery, ensuring customer requirements are clearly communicated, schedules are maintained, and issues are resolved quickly and professionally.

The ideal candidate has hands-on shop floor experience, understands generator systems and enclosure manufacturing, and is comfortable communicating directly with customers, dealers, EPCs, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Project Interface

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned projects
  • Lead project kick-off calls and ongoing customer coordination
  • Communicate schedule, submittals, changes, and delivery status
  • Manage RFIs, clarifications, and scope alignment
  • Represent Gulfstream professionally in all customer interactions

Internal Coordination

  • Translate customer requirements into clear shop instructions
  • Coordinate with fabrication, tank, electrical, and QC teams
  • Monitor production progress and flag risks early
  • Support scheduling, material readiness, and inspection coordination
  • Ensure drawings, specs, and revisions are properly controlled

Technical & Execution Oversight

  • Review project specs related to:
  • Generator enclosures (containerized & walk-in)
  • Fuel systems (sub-base tanks, day tanks)
  • Ventilation, exhaust, louvers, and sound attenuation
  • Electrical interfaces and auxiliaries
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical or production issues
  • Support FATs, inspections, and customer walkthroughs

Documentation & Closeout

  • Track submittals, approvals, and change orders
  • Maintain project records and communication logs
  • Support final documentation, punch lists, and delivery coordination

Preferred Experience & Background

  • Experience in generator enclosures, genset packaging, or power generation
  • Prior shop floor or fabrication experience strongly preferred
  • Background working with CAT, Cummins, MTU, or similar OEM ecosystems
  • Comfortable reading drawings, specs, and basic electrical/mechanical layouts
  • Experience interfacing with customers, dealers, EPCs, or consultants

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
