Delivery Dispatcher

We have an immediate need for an experienced last mile Delivery Dispatcher to join our team at a home furniture delivery warehouse office in Commerce City, CO. We are a leading national final mile company providing home delivery and logistics solutions for world-class retailers such as Mor Furniture for Less, RH, Costco, La-Z-Boy, Ashley Furniture and others.

This energetic person will perform a variety of jobs, including communicating with delivery teams, processing delivery paperwork and orders, assisting with the maintenance of computer billing file, helping solve delivery customer problems and also "checking in" delivery trucks at the warehouse at the end of the day. Local delivery experience and in-depth knowledge of the Denver area geography and traffic patterns are a big plus. Basic computer skills, people skills, a professional appearance, and a strong work ethic are all required.

Must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday daytime schedule.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls from drivers, customers, clients and then record/relay significant information
• Monitor and Utilize dispatch and routing software program
• Maintain electronic billing records used to prepare invoices
• Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
• Use a phone or computer to review and record information.
• Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate efficient delivery performance.
• Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
• Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information
• "Check In" delivery teams with merchandise returns (in the warehouse) at the end of each day.

Skills

• Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Tech-savvy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel experience strongly preferred)
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
• Strong attention to detail

The most qualified candidates will have experience in a home delivery or transportation operation office. Must be people-oriented and able to communicate well by phone with drivers and customers. Saturday shifts will be required as part of the regular schedule.
