Design Drafter II

Job Overview
GNS Survey, Inc. is a Southern California land surveying and mapping firm seeking a skilled and motivated Design Drafter II to join our collaborative design team. In this role, you will support utility surveying projects by producing accurate, high-quality drafting deliverables on time

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed utility design drawings, profiles, and highlighted as-built/atlas maps using Autodesk Civil 3D
• Apply correct mapping symbols, callouts, decals and tie-downs in accordance with company standards and templates
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on final drafting deliverables
• Incorporate data from topographic surveys, LiDAR, and historical utility as-builts into final drawings
• Manage multiple project deadlines by maintaining schedules, calendars and alerts
• Collaborate with project teams and management to ensure timely and accurate project completion
• Use Microsoft Teams for project coordination and internal communication
• Safeguard company assets, confidential information and proprietary data in accordance with company policies

Minimum Qualifications

• CAD-related certifications
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
• Experience using Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration platforms
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu or comparable PDF editing software

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the electric utility industry or utility design
• Additional CAD experience

Pay Range

• The pay range for incoming hires into this position is $28 - $33/hr. Within this range, actual individual starting pay is determined by a variety of factors, including a candidate's experience, job-related skills, and relevant training.
