Position: Sr. Systems and Service Support Technician
Position Summary
The Sr Systems and Service Support Technician is a key resource focused on building, testing and bringing online a diverse set of printing and post processing equipment. The ideal candidate has demonstrated competency in building and testing complex electro-mechanical systems preferable in the printing industry and will be comfortable with modest travel to support customer installation and service requirements. This role will also work closely with R&D teams as necessary to develop and test new subsystems which improve performance and provide reliability enhancements to existing equipment as well as support the development of clean sheet designs.
Responsibilities
· Full electromechanical assembly of CBAM printers, presses and post processing equipment
· Perform initial system functional testing, debugging and verification
· System calibration and setup to produce high quality parts
· Prepare equipment for shipping
· Support on-site installation, training, and on-site service for both initial installations and field service, problem debugging and installation of field upgrades.
· Participate in testing and development of system upgrades and improvements with R&D engineering team
· Set up and conduct engineering experiments on new designs as required. Collect and summarize relevant data.
· Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all production processes and methods for 3D printed component fabrication including post processing stations to achieve good quality parts per standard.
· Troubleshoot and resolve electro-mechanical system issues.
· Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration requirements are up to date and equipment is operating at optimal performance levels.
· Identify and review subsystem, component, and assembly issues with engineers. Implement required corrective actions per engineer's direction.
· Collect and summarize data in report format. Provide general statistics and indicate failure mode and trends.
· Ensure all record keeping requirements and engineering documentation are current and up to date.
· Review and ensure procedures and Bills of Material for accuracy and clarity—making necessary recommendations to engineering staff.
· Assist in training other staff members on the various equipment in use.
· Clearly and accurately communicate status of projects, problems, and issues— ensuring all assigned tasks are implemented and completed in a timely manner.
· Maintain general housekeeping in the factory.
· Other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
· Demonstrated proficiency with building complex electromechanical systems.
· Demonstrated experimental skills to produce reliable, high quality data
· Comfortable with basic data acquisition and analysis
· Capable of reading engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English; both written and verbal.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of working in a flexible/collaborative environment.
· Demonstrated trouble shooting skills with an ability to resolve component and electro-mechanical system level issues.
· Capable of using general model shop equipment and hand tools with an ability to fabricate assembly fixtures.
· PC literate in standard Microsoft or Google software such as MSWord/Excel Google Docs/Sheets.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· Ability to use CAD programs and 3D modeling software a plus.
· Travel to support customer installations, field support, and trade shows. Typically, 4-6 times per year.
