With a wealth of experience in substance use services, our team brings specialized knowledge and community insight that truly makes a difference. As the Clinical Lead Doctor , you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of individuals facing challenges with drug and alcohol use.

At Turning Point, you’ll collaborate with addiction specialists nationwide, gaining invaluable learning and support along the way!

Your Role and Responsibilities

As the Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Lead all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
  • Drive service development initiatives.
  • Advise on the development and implementation of key policies.
  • Champion research and innovation to create new clinical guidance and service protocols.
  • Collaborate with Turning Point colleagues nationwide to enhance patient care.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to your peers.
  • Embrace the opportunity to teach students from various disciplines.

You will also:

  • Offer expert advice on complex cases, including drug interactions and comorbid health issues.
  • Accept referrals for patients with severe or complex needs.
  • Oversee psychosocial support based on comprehensive research evidence.
  • Introduce innovative interventions to improve outcomes.
  • Engage in complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments.
  • Provide liaison services in acute medical and psychiatric settings.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including HM Coroners courts and probation services.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

We are looking for an Addiction Psychiatrist , GP Specialist , or a suitably experienced Speciality Doctor to step into this leadership role.

The perfect candidate will have:

  • Accreditation as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment.
  • One of the following qualifications:
    • Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with addiction endorsement.
    • Training and experience equivalent to this, certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
    • Listed on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate training and experience.
    • Fulfilled criteria of a speciality doctor in Addictions with suitable experience.
