As the Clinical Lead, you will:

• Oversee all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
• Drive service development initiatives and act as an advisor on policy implementation.
• Champion research and innovation to enhance clinical guidance and service protocols.
• Collaborate with colleagues nationwide to optimize patient care.
• Provide clinical supervision and training to fellow clinicians.
• Embrace the opportunity to teach students from various disciplines.

You will also handle the most complex cases, providing:

• Expert advice on diagnosis, assessment, and care planning, particularly for complex drug interactions and comorbid conditions.
• Acceptance of referrals for individuals with severe or complex needs.
• Oversight of psychosocial support based on comprehensive research evidence.
• Leadership in introducing innovative interventions to improve outcomes.
• Complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments when necessary.
• Liaison with drug and alcohol services in acute medical and psychiatric settings.
• Collaboration with stakeholders, including HM Coroners courts and probation services.

We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist, GP Specialist, or a suitably qualified Specialty Doctor to step into the Clinical Lead role. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong clinical experience and leadership skills.
• Accreditation as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment, with one of the following qualifications:
• Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with addiction endorsement.
• Equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
• Listed on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate training and experience.
• Fulfillment of criteria for a specialty doctor in Addictions with relevant experience.
