At Turning Point, we leverage our extensive experience in substance use services, both locally and nationally, to provide tailored support that resonates with diverse communities. As the Clinical Lead Doctor, you will play a pivotal role in transforming lives and fostering recovery.
Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs the Clinical Lead, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
- Drive service development initiatives and act as an advisor on policy implementation.
- Champion research and innovation to enhance clinical guidance and service protocols.
- Collaborate with colleagues nationwide to optimize patient care.
- Provide clinical supervision and training to fellow clinicians.
- Embrace the opportunity to teach students from various disciplines.
You will also handle the most complex cases, providing:
- Expert advice on diagnosis, assessment, and care planning, particularly for complex drug interactions and comorbid conditions.
- Acceptance of referrals for individuals with severe or complex needs.
- Oversight of psychosocial support based on comprehensive research evidence.
- Leadership in introducing innovative interventions to improve outcomes.
- Complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments when necessary.
- Liaison with drug and alcohol services in acute medical and psychiatric settings.
- Collaboration with stakeholders, including HM Coroners courts and probation services.
We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist, GP Specialist, or a suitably qualified Specialty Doctor to step into the Clinical Lead role. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong clinical experience and leadership skills.
- Accreditation as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment, with one of the following qualifications:
- Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with addiction endorsement.
- Equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
- Listed on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate training and experience.
- Fulfillment of criteria for a specialty doctor in Addictions with relevant experience.
