Are you ready to make a real impact? We’re thrilled to announce a new position within our vibrant partnership in Grimsby, dedicated to delivering top-notch substance use treatment and recovery services across Lincolnshire.

With a wealth of experience in substance use services, our team brings specialized knowledge and community insights that truly matter. As the Clinical Lead Doctor , you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of individuals facing challenges with drug and alcohol use.

At Turning Point, you’ll collaborate with addiction specialists nationwide, gaining invaluable support and learning opportunities. This part-time role offers 14.8 hours per week with flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

Your Responsibilities

As the Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Oversee all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
  • Drive service development and innovation.
  • Advise on policy development and implementation.
  • Champion research initiatives to enhance clinical guidance and service protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues nationally to optimize patient care.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to fellow clinicians.
  • Embrace the opportunity to teach students from various disciplines.

You will also treat our most complex patients by:

  • Offering expert advice on diagnosis, assessment, and care planning.
  • Accepting referrals for individuals with severe or complex needs.
  • Providing oversight for psychosocial support based on comprehensive research.
  • Introducing innovative interventions to improve outcomes.
  • Managing complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across various sectors, including HM Coroners courts and probation services.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?

We’re looking for an experienced doctor with a passion for service delivery and development. Your clinical expertise and leadership skills are essential!

The successful candidate will need to be accredited as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment and should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in addiction.
  • Have equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Listed on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate training and experience in addiction/substance use.
  • Fulfill the criteria of a specialty doctor in Addictions with suitable experience.
