Non-Destructive Testing Personnel

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for safe day-to-day activities required to inspect the company's products and processes using Non-destructive inspection techniques (Liquid Penetrant testing). Work independently or as a team member, under minimal supervision, in the daily execution of tasks necessary to meet quality and scheduled goals of the company. Ability to exercise independent judgment as necessary to complete tasks.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs non-destructive inspection activities involved in the manufacturing of products and processes including, but not limited to, the use of the following NDT methods such as visual, and liquid penetrant.

• Follows written and verbal instructions, travelers, or drawings.
• Prepares inspection reports, document observations such as non-conformances.
• Maintains a clean work environment
• Evaluates, and interprets NDT results
• Completes all records of inspection including rejection reports as applicable accurately and timely
• Examines material or product for defects such as cracks, porosity and incomplete welds.
• Displays competency in Level II (PT) Liquid Penetrant Inspection examination techniques.
• Tests product for structural defects such as leaks or internal cracks.
• Documents inspection and report findings to Engineering and assist with technical evaluation of components to include life assessment.
• Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines.

TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES:
Standard shop machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years' experience
• Experience with NDT testing and Dimensional Inspection
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Graduate of specialist NDT Technical Program (PT testing) meeting SNT-TC-1A specifications
• Certification as NDT Level II Technician with 1 year experience or prior certification as an NDT Level I
• Annual Eye exam
• General computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Pulling/pushing, bending, standing, sitting, and walking are all encountered throughout the workday
• Lifting requirement of 45 pounds
