Maintenance Specialist IV

JOB

Performs skilled work on a variety of construction, maintenance and repair projects. Operates specialized equipment in connection with task. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

• Highly skilled and trained facilities managers accountable for daily administration of maintenance and repair operations
  •Incorporate administrative tasks into daily work to include completing paperwork to track repairs, keep track of inventory, obtain permits, decipher blueprints, draw up plans, order supplies or materials and stay on schedule with project deadlines
  •Properly troubleshoot the origin of problems with equipment or operating errors
  •Monitoring and evaluate the functionality of various machines so you can analyze and maintain quality control
  •Anticipate ongoing needs and identify problem areas or potential issues with machines and operations
  •Direct comprehensive programs for operations, maintenance, repair and improvement of City of Bartow properties
  •Determine operating and maintenance requirements
  •Evaluate the facilities program effectiveness through inspections, budget controls, and management improvement studies
  •Plan physical plant altercations and improvement to accommodate increased or changing energy consumption patterns
  •Accountable for and provide direction or troubleshooting/repair expertise required to accomplish these difficult tasks
  •Forecast material and manpower needs
  •Organize and direct program resources
  •Prepare cost estimates, equipment needs, manage work schedules and priorities
  •Direct and supervise facilities operating activities performed in-house, as well as outsources services, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, water and sewage treatment, emergency power generation equipment, and elevator service; and building maintenance and repair, facilities operational equipment, grounds upkeep, and roadways
