We are recruiting for a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This vital role ensures the smooth and accurate flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for managing incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing outgoing shipments for delivery. Accurate record-keeping and inventory control are key components of this position. A strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations is highly beneficial. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting and moving packages of various sizes and weights. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and drivers to ensure efficient operations. We are looking for a reliable and organized individual who can thrive in a dynamic warehouse environment. Your contribution is essential to maintaining our high standards of service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed (certification may be required).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Support the overall logistics and flow of warehouse operations.
- Safe lifting and movement of packages is a daily requirement.
Proven experience in shipping and receiving or a similar warehouse role. Familiarity with inventory management systems and practices. Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Must be able to wear required PPE. Good communication skills. Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. Forklift operation experience is a plus.
