The Mission At FLOX, we believe smarter farms lead to thriving chickens and healthier lives. Our mission is simple: healthier chickens benefit everyone. That’s why we built FLOX360, a system that uses Computer Vision, smart sensors, and real-time insights to transform poultry farming. By helping farmers improve welfare and efficiency, FLOX360 creates a win-win for birds, farmers, the environment, and people everywhere. Today, we’re watching 70 million chickens a year and are preparing for our Series A round. We believe we are setting the standard for animal welfare and smart farming - and we’re just getting started.
The role We are seeking a Product User Research & UI/UX Designer to work closely with the CTO and SLT in our London office. This is a high-impact generalist product role that combines hands-on user research and UX/UI design execution for customer-facing and internal product surfaces. You will operate close to real users (farmers, planners, integrators), translate insight into clear design and product direction, and help ensure FLOX ships products that are intuitive, trusted, and valuable. This role is not a traditional “handoff” designer or pure researcher. You will move fluidly from discovery → insight → design → iteration, working inside fast product cycles. As FLOX scales into the US, Europe and globally further, your work will directly influence product adoption, customer satisfaction, and commercial outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:
User Research & Discovery
Plan and run qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, field studies, usability testing, journey mapping)
Conduct regular user touchpoints with farmers, planners, and ops teams to surface pain points and unmet needs
Synthesize Voice of Customer (VoC) into clear, actionable insights that inform product priorities
Maintain and evolve personas, journey maps, and problem statements aligned to business goals
UX / UI Design
Design clear, practical, production-ready UI/UX for dashboards, workflows, and AI-powered experiences
Create low to high-fidelity prototypes to test assumptions quickly before engineering investment
Iterate designs based on real user feedback and delivery constraints
Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are buildable, pragmatic, and scalable
Product Collaboration
Partner with the CTO, Product to support PRDs with research evidence and design inputs
Embed research and design into sprint cycles to support fast validation and delivery
Help establish lightweight, repeatable research + design practices that scale with the company

We dedicate ourselves to work that matters, taking pride in creating disruptive solutions our users can’t live without.
We would love to meet you if you have all or some of these requirements:
2–4 years’ experience in high-performance startups or scale-ups
Strong grounding in user research with the ability to move from insight → action
Practical UX/UI design skills (wireframes, flows, prototypes - not just theory)
Excellent communication - comfortable engaging users, engineers, and leadership
Product mindset: you care about outcomes, not just artefacts
Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast iteration cycles
Confident using modern tool stacks (Notion, Figma, Slack, research tools)
Comfortable working with AI tools for research and UI/UX design
Able to travel to our E8 London HQ approximately twice per week
What we can offer you:
Up to £45k p.a. depending on experience and location
Inclusive and relaxed company culture: we welcome everyone, we encourage you to be yourself and dress as you like
Lunch and snacks provided (we swapped the beer fridge for a kombucha fridge)
Exposure to state-of-the-art technologies
A talented and international work environment
Travel within the UK & potentially into the US and LATAM
A chance to work with well-respected experts, including AI and robotics
Application Process We highly recommend answering the application questions with care (and please avoid AI slop - there are real people going through every application!) - we want to get a sense of who you are from those!
Screening Call - 20min
First Interview (Role & Culture Fit) - 1h
Take home task (~2h)
Task review with SLT (1h)
(optional) Final Founder Interview (30min)
We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from all individuals are encouraged regardless of age, socioeconomic background, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
