Our facility in Portland, Oregon is looking for a meticulous Shipping & Receiving Associate to manage the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. This role is vital for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our supply chain. You'll be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly storing items. On the shipping side, you will prepare orders for shipment, generate labels, pack items securely, and arrange for carrier pickup. A strong understanding of inventory management and logistics principles is essential. You must be committed to upholding the highest standards of safety , utilizing all required PPE , and operating equipment responsibly. This position involves frequent Lifting and requires a proactive approach to maintaining an organized and efficient receiving and shipping dock.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods received against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Stock received items in appropriate warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our WMS.
- Ensure the shipping and receiving areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and use necessary PPE .
- Support overall warehouse logistics and team goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with computers and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience with logistics software is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of proper material handling and packaging techniques.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE .
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
