Customs and Border Protection Officer Job Opportunity
This role involves working with an elite team of highly trained professionals to safeguard America's borders, prevent illicit activity, and enhance economic prosperity.
The Customs and Border Protection Officer is a key member of the Federal Law Enforcement profession, responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. They facilitate legitimate trade and travel while conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
- To be eligible for this position, you must possess one or more of the following qualifications:
•
A minimum of three (3) years full-time general work experience demonstrating people skills• A bachelor's degree or equivalent education in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Combination of successfully completed college education AND general work experience
, including previous law enforcement or military law enforcement experience which may qualify you at the GS-9 grade level.
If hired as a Customs & Border Protection officer you will receive formal training at FLETC located in Glynco GA where basic law enforcement skills are learned such as firearms training cargo examination physical fitness etc. Additionally if assigned southern border Miami Puerto Rico duty locations additional Spanish language training will also be required Successful completion academy required position You'll then be eligible promotion next higher grade once complete 52 weeks each level promotions discretion agency officers select federal employment benefits include health dental insurance annual sick leave program participation Thrift Savings Plan retirement plan akin traditional ROTH 401(k)
