Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, including mobility, strength, and functional limitations
  • Develop and execute tailored care plans utilizing evidence-based physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedics interventions
  • Provide hands-on therapy to improve movement, reduce pain, and enhance recovery in acute care, inpatient, outpatient, or home & community care settings
  • Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, self-care strategies, and discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Stay current with advancements in physiology knowledge, anatomy, and medical terminology to deliver the highest standard of care

Requirements

  • Valid licensure as a licensed Physical Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Proven experience in inpatient hospital environments, outpatient clinics, or home health settings with a focus on orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics or sports rehabilitation
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs across diverse populations
  • Experience with EMR systems for documentation and patient management
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Ability to perform discharge planning and coordinate community-based care for optimal recovery outcomes
  • Knowledge of home & community care practices and familiarity with hospital protocols is highly desirable
