Armed Protection Officer: Plain Clothes

Job Summary
We are seeking three highly professional and vigilant plain clothes Armed Protection Officers to provide part-time security services for a multi-campus house of worship. The ideal candidates will be responsible for ensuring the safety of congregants and staff by proactively monitoring and responding to security concerns. This role requires a low- profile presence, strong situational awareness, and the ability to handle various security scenarios with professionalism and confidence.

Duties

• Conduct regular on-site surveillance to identify potential threats or suspicious activity.
• Maintain a visible yet low profile security presence during services and events, ensuring the safety of all attendees.
• Respond promptly and effectively to any security incidents or emergencies, utilizing conflict management skills as needed.
• Perform first aid or CPR in emergency situations until medical professionals arrive.
• Collaborate with on-site security volunteers and church staff to maintain effective lines of communication during services.
• Observe and prevent criminal activities, including theft or vandalism within the facility and on the perimeter of the property.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, representing the organization with integrity.
• Willing to attend behavior threat detection, medical response, and active shooter training and certification provided by the organization.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, armed security, or executive protection is preferred.
• Certifications in first aid, CPR, and bleeding control are highly desirable.
• Strong surveillance skills with experience in conflict management.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations discreetly.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
• Physical fitness to perform patrol duties as required.
• Valid State of Alabama armed security license as mandated by local regulations is required.
• Wear low-profile clothing suitable for the environment and worship services.

Requirements

• This is a part-time position that requires service every Sunday, and periodic short-term assignments throughout the week.
• Be of good moral character: honest, maintain dependability and report for duty as scheduled, and show compassion with a willingness to serve a faith-based organization.
• Successfully pass a background investigation.
• Have an active Alabama armed security officer license or be willing to attend and successfully complete an approved armed security officer training course (provided by the contractor).
