Pre K Assistant Teacher

Job Summary:

The Auxiliary Teacher supports the Lead Pre-K Teacher in delivering a high-quality, developmentally appropriate education program that promotes school readiness. This position assists with classroom instruction, supervision, and student engagement to ensure a safe, nurturing, and effective learning environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Support children during individual, small-group, and whole-group learning activities.
• Prepare classroom materials (charts, name tags, learning aids) as requested by the Lead Teacher.
• Reinforce concepts introduced by the teacher and assist students who need extra help.
• Supervise children during transitions (arrival/dismissal, lunch, outdoor play) and ensure their safety.
• Monitor and document student progress as directed.
• Support positive behavior management and model respectful interactions with students.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development trainings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Director.

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR at least 9 credit hours of college coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Experience working with young children in classroom or childcare settings.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and families.

Hours 7:45am-5:15pm preferred

Option two 7:15-2:45pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $14.00 per hour
