Responsibilities
- Travel to patient locations to perform blood draws and specimen collection with precision and professionalism
- Apply aseptic techniques and proper specimen processing procedures to maintain sample integrity
- Educate patients on the collection process, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the procedure
- Document all collection details accurately within electronic health records or laboratory information systems
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and HIPAA regulations
- Ensure all equipment is properly sterilized, maintained, and ready for use before each appointment
Experience
- Proven laboratory procedures and techniques with hands-on laboratory experience preferred
- Prior clinical laboratory or hospital experience involving patient care and specimen collection highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture and blood draws
- Experience with vital signs measurement and aseptic technique in a healthcare setting
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
- Familiarity with hospital environments or mobile healthcare settings is a plus
- Certification in phlebotomy or related fields is preferred but not required; ongoing training provided
