Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team. This position involves assisting with various dental procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of the office, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. We are looking for an assistant to work our Saturday shifts only.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Take dental X-rays and ensure proper handling of radiographic equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental or similar systems, including medical coding and dental terminology.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Schedule appointments and manage the front desk as needed, including answering phones and handling patient inquiries.
• Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly atmosphere that alleviates anxiety during visits.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Assist the team with general office upkeep.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, but we are open to training motivated candidates.
• Familiarity with the dental software system Open Dental.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices in a dental setting.
• Understanding of dental terminology, medical coding, and assisting techniques.
• Experience in a dual role as a Dental Receptionist is advantageous but not required.
• Specialty experience is a plus
