Position Summary

The Shift Lead supports the Store Manager by coordinating shift operations, guiding baristas, and ensuring consistent service, quality, and cleanliness. This role helps uphold Oasis standards, assists with training, and keeps the store running smoothly when the Manager is not on-site. This is not a formal management position but includes leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Operations

  • Oversee daily workflow during assigned shifts to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain high standards of drink/food quality, service speed, and cleanliness.
  • Support opening/closing procedures and uphold store policies.
  • Step in to assist FOH/BOH as needed.

Team Support & Training

  • Provide guidance and support to baristas throughout the shift.
  • Assist with training new team members on drinks, procedures, and customer service.
  • Model a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Communicate performance or operational issues to the Store Manager.

Customer Service

  • Ensure a welcoming, customer-first atmosphere.
  • Resolve minor customer issues during shifts; escalate larger issues to the Manager.
  • Promote upselling, specials, and positive guest interactions.

Sales & Community Support

  • Support store sales by encouraging upselling and promoting current specials.
  • Assist with in-store promotions and community-focused initiatives.
  • Maintain product knowledge and help introduce new menu items to guests.

Inventory & Cash Handling

  • Monitor low-stock items and communicate needs to the Manager.
  • Perform basic cash-handling duties, including register accuracy and safe drops.
  • Help reduce waste and maintain accurate portioning.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1yr+ experience in food & beverage, café, or similar environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead peers respectfully and supportively.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and in a fast-paced setting.
  • Food Handler Permit or ability to obtain one.

Preferred:

  • Prior shift lead/key holder experience.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand 6–8 hours; lift up to 40 lbs; frequent movement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $1.50-$3.00/hr above barista pay (Currently $21.30) plus Tips
