Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be equipped with the skills necessary to assist in their educational journey, particularly in early childhood settings. This role is essential in fostering the development of children, including those with special needs.
Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in guiding children through Montessori-based activities.
- Supervise children to ensure safety, positive behavior, and engagement.
- Assist children with practical life skills, social interaction, and problem-solving.
- Help with classroom organization and upkeep, including cleaning tasks as needed.
- Maintain open, respectful communication with staff, children, and parents.
- Participate in required 24 hours of professional development annually.
- Passion for working with young children in a faith-based environment.
- Ability to work with children ages 18 months–6 years with patience and care.
- CPR and First Aid certification (required or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Willingness to engage in cleaning and classroom maintenance tasks.
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or training in the following areas:
- Previous experience in preschool, daycare, or early childhood education settings is beneficial.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and practices.
- Experience working directly with children through roles such as childcare provider, nannying, babysitting, or caregiving is essential.
- Classroom management experience will be an advantage, particularly in managing toddler care environments. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners while working alongside experienced educators in a supportive setting.
