As global supply and demand for water intensifies, solving the world's most complex water challenges demands different thinking – and that's where we come in. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water team in the Northeast.
As a member of the Jacobs team you will work on a variety of exciting and challenging water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance and treatment planning and design projects throughout the region. This position will primarily project managers with the growth and delivery of our municipal water projects with a specific focus on delivering critical PFAS related infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for conducting evaluations, designs, and provide services during construction at municipal water and wastewater conveyance.
The applicant should be self-motivated with a long-term desire to grow personally as well as professionally and have a desire to move forward in their career as a Design Manager or Project Manager. Each project will provide career opportunities while delivering transformative projects for our clients.
Responsibilities include
- Collaborating and working with a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of water, wastewater, stormwater, and natural treatment system design projects.
- Participating in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects and tasks.
- Coordinating project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group.
- Completing calculations for a variety of projects, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required by each assignment.
- Assisting in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Oversight and mentoring of more junior engineers in delivery of work
- Assuming the role of Process Task Lead on projects
- Conducting field visits to support ongoing construction work
- Providing services during startup to ensure performance and design intent of systems are being met

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related engineering discipline, is required.
- At least Seven (7) years of consulting experience for water and wastewater clients.
- Experience in serving various clients involving a wide variety of fields including drinking water, wastewater, stormwater conveyance, and natural treatment systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes and technologies, planning and condition assessments.
- Willingness to learn Jacobs' proprietary tools.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, or solutions reports.
- Working knowledge and understanding of local and state design codes and standards. - Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ideally, You'll Also Have
- Professional Engineer license and/or willingness to obtain reciprocity as needed
- Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience managing deliverables to scope, schedule and budget for planning and design projects
- Experience providing services during construction.
- Involvement in professional society organizations, community organization or other leadership roles with volunteer organizations.
- Self-motivated, initiator; demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities

The base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $135, Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
