Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialty units such as dermatology, urgent care, and internal medicine. This role involves supporting physicians and healthcare professionals by performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery. Candidates with experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or trauma centers will find this position particularly fitting. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in patient intake, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
  • Assist with clinical procedures including medication administration, injections, and basic wound care
  • Support physicians during examinations and treatments in outpatient or inpatient settings
  • Operate EHR systems efficiently to document patient information, ICD coding, and treatment plans
  • Prepare patients for procedures such as X-ray or other diagnostic tests within hospital or outpatient settings
  • Assist with specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication use, and health maintenance strategies
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols
  • Support medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, insurance documentation, and follow-up coordination

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program
  • Prior experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine (Level I or Level II trauma centers), or outpatient clinics preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology
  • Experience with EHR systems and medical-surgical documentation processes
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification is required
  • Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery
  • Familiarity with specialty areas such as dermatology, geriatrics, PICU, OR procedures, or internal medicine is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to handle fast-paced environments including urgent care or inpatient settings with Level I Trauma Center experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
