Advanced Armor Research Group is seeing a Mechanical Engineer in the Indian Head, MD area. This individual will support the design, development, manufacturing, testing and evaluation of various prototype components and systems.

MUST be a US Citizen with the ability to carry a clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design for manufacturing and analysis of complex mechanical and electrical components for modifications based on technical discussions and development cycles.
  • Facilitate the design, analysis, testing, computer models, sketches, drawings, hardware repair, sensor evaluation and integration, modifications, and test and evaluation of Government prototypes.
  • Review and redline technical drawings, specifications, firmware, and software that define the configurations of all Drawings Requests (DR's), Notice of Revision's (NOR's) and associated Engineering change Proposals (ECP's).
  • Continuous monitoring of the sources of supply chain including vendor materials and unique manufacturing processes to align with project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage major equipment purchasing and negotiations with contracted vendors for material expediting to maintain delivery schedules at facilities and locations nationally.
  • Interface with vendors and sponsors to test systems and components in accordance with industry and government requirements and standards for product qualification.
  • Engage with senior personnel and management on significant technical matters that require coordination between organizations to manage program financial execution and planning.
  • Work with technical staff documenting technical and programmatic requirements and milestones.

Skills:

· Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining project focus.

  • Ability to draft technical reports and present to various organizational levels.

· Proficiency in Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).

  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks and creation and redline process of 2D drawings for design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly and documentation required for engineering change proposals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Manufacturing, Product Development, and/or R&D.
  • Excellent work ethic, and ability to work 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.
  • Must be a US citizen, and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to pass drug test and background check.
