Position Overview
The Elementary Technology Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality technology instruction aligned to the North Carolina Technology Standards while supporting the academic, digital, and ethical development of elementary scholars. This role builds foundational skills in digital literacy, computational thinking, creativity, and responsible technology use, while collaborating with classroom teachers and school leaders to integrate technology across the curriculum.
Primary Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum
- Teach the North Carolina Technology Standards for grades K–5 through engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons
- Design and deliver instruction in digital literacy, keyboarding, coding basics, multimedia creation, and responsible digital citizenship
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to grade-level standards, pacing guides, and school instructional priorities
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English learners
Assessment and Student Progress
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress toward mastery of technology standards
- Maintain accurate records of student learning, grades, and progress in accordance with school expectations
- Use assessment data to adjust instruction and provide targeted support
Classroom Environment and Management
- Establish a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports positive behavior and student engagement
- Teach and reinforce responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology
- Maintain classroom routines and expectations that promote independence and accountability
Collaboration and School Support
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support technology integration across core subjects
- Support schoolwide technology initiatives, assessments, and instructional tools as assigned
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, expectations, and technology use
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional learning communities, staff meetings, and professional development
- Comply with school policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership in support of the school's mission
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field
- Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure
- Knowledge of the North Carolina Technology Standards and elementary instructional practices
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching technology at the elementary level
- Experience with learning management systems, educational software, and digital tools used in K–5 settings
Knowledge of coding platforms, robotics, or STEM integration
Pay: $40, $60,000.00 per year
