Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on food safety protocols, proper handling techniques, and culinary procedures to maintain high standards.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Coordinate shift schedules, manage staffing levels, and ensure efficient shift management to meet customer demand.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Lead staff recruitment efforts by interviewing candidates and supporting onboarding processes to build a skilled culinary team.
- Support restaurant management initiatives by contributing to budgeting efforts, cost control measures, and overall food service management strategies.
- Foster a positive team environment through ongoing training & development programs, encouraging teamwork and professional growth.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to enhance customer service experiences and address guest feedback promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management with a strong background in kitchen operations within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments.
- Extensive culinary experience with skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food production processes.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with a focus on team management and staff training & development.
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient transaction processing.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards (including HACCP certification preferred).
- Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing effective food management strategies.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on delivering memorable dining experiences.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining high levels of integrity in cash handling procedures.
