Warehouse Operations Manager

MITY Inc. is an award-winning global manufacturer of professionally designed highly durable furniture products. Trusted worldwide, MityLite products are found primarily in banquet, meeting, and event venues in the hospitality, education, government, and worship markets.

Our supply chain team is looking for a warehouse operations manager to jump in, add oversight and support while bringing technical abilities to mentor and level-up their teams capabilities to work smarter.

The purpose of the Warehouse logistics manager is to organize the safe and efficient storage and distribution of goods, and to ensure that orders are fulfilled (carried out) correctly. This is to include supervision of all warehouse, material handling, shipping, receiving and inventory control functions. This position holds a base salary plus 10% EBITA bonus potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a warehouse staff, providing training, guidance and performance evaluations
• Oversee the distribution process and ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to customers
• Manage transportation activities, including coordinating shipments, selecting carriers, and negotiating freight rates (domestic and international)
• Monitor order fulfillment to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery
• Sales order Shipping and Yard management
• Procure necessary materials and supplies for distribution operations
• Develop and implement category management strategies to optimize distribution processes
• Train and supervise distribution staff, including forklift operators and warehouse personnel
• Monitor and analyze distribution metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations
• Oversee inventory management, including receiving, storing and tracking stock levels as well as collaborating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to manage inventory levels and ensure adequate supply chain management
• Coordinate receiving schedule with logistics to ensure timely and efficient transportation management
• Collaborate with production planning team to ensure adequate stock levels to meet customer demand
• Implement materials management strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

• Proven background in related field required
• Proven experience in transportation management, order fulfillment, and operations management
• Strong knowledge of freight procurement processes and transportation management systems
• Strong background in domestic freight and warehousing system (LTL, FTL, intermodal shipping etc.
• Analytical mind that can process data sets while giving strategic direction without letting the day-to-day tactics slip
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, and customers
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise a team of distribution staff
• Experience in Dynamics NAV, PowerBI and change management is a major plus
